Does editing metadata affect PDF content?
No. Metadata is descriptive information separate from the content. The text, images and formatting of the PDF are not modified at all.
Can I remove all metadata?
Yes. Simply clear all fields and save. The fields will be empty in the resulting PDF.
Are my files uploaded to any server?
No. All processing happens 100% in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device.
Can I edit metadata of protected PDFs?
Not directly. You must first remove the PDF protection using our 'Protect PDF' tool (unlock option) and then edit the metadata.
What are keywords and why are they important?
Keywords are descriptive terms that make it easier to find the document in searches. They are especially useful for document managers, digital libraries and SEO.
